Matrei is a station on the Austrian side of the Brenner Pass located on the railwayline connecting Innsbruck and Bolzano. From here you can take a small road to Maria Waldrast, a beautiful cloister up in the mountains which is a magnificant startingpoint for lots of mountainhikes. Matrei, July 1998
