The railway station is located at a big square at the foot of the famous Dom of Cologne. It was built in 1859 on the grounds of the former botanical gardens. 1200 trains dailey visit the station among which the most modern ones like the ICE 3, the Thalys or the ICE sprinters from and to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Hasmburg, London and Paris.
