Amsterdam Central station is one of the most impressing stations of the Netherland. It is built along the IJ, the river that splits Amsterdam in two main parts. In 1980 it handled already 80.000 passengers and the number is expected to rise to far more than 100.000. Recently the station was connected to Schiphol airport and to the new Flevo railwayline.
